Johann Hofer

The document above, kindly translated by Cy & Ferrie Yashur, is a copy of a Birth Certificate & Christening document for the purpose to verify the Germanic ancestry of Johann Hofer. It states the following:

Johann Hofer was born August 5th 1792 at 6 PM at Ruckerberg 90 and was baptized in a Roman Catholic ritual on August 6th. He is male and the legitimate child of Johann Hofer who's profession is 'Amtsman' (which means he is employed in a official position) and he his Roman Catholic.

The mothers name is Maria; maiden name Hausrukerin and she is Roman Catholic.

The godmother's name is Theresia Mayrhoferin; she is an innkeeper in Sparrbersbach. The person who christened the child is Josef Pichler, Chaplain. The midwife's name is Anna Scherin.

Then the paper lists where on can find the documents in the files, that it is the parish of Graz - St. Peter and is written on January 11, 1939. The seal is the parish St. Peter in Graz, signed by pastor Johann Thaller.
